Thursday, November 10th at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 14423 West Road, Houston, TX 77041

We will be packing 640 Basket of Hope gifts and we hope YOU will be there. Bring a group from work or your friends and make a big difference in a fun, quick-to-complete setting.  We are also seeking financial support to serve up to 1,000 children and their families in 2022-2023.  Those Baskets and Hope Totes will go to children and families at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, Texas Children, MD Anderson, Shriners, Main Methodist (breast cancer patients), and Ronald McDonald House-Holcomb.

Our goal of raising $100,000 will help us give baskets of age-appropriate games, toys, art supplies, and more to seriously-ill children, along with Basket of Hope Totes for parents. Basket of Hope Totes are filled with items to nourish the parents physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Each Basket of Hope family gift is valued at more than $300 and children and their parents truly light up when they receive one.

Donations of $100 or more make a huge difference and enable you to personally connect with the Basket of Hope recipient in the hospital.  Here are your opportunities:

Letter from the Houston Branch Coordinator

Hello, I'm Mary Beth McNamara, the Branch Coordinator for Basket Of Hope-Houston, and we are asking for your support of our November 10 packing and fundraising event.  Your help will make a difference as we SHARE HOPE with seriously-ill children and their families by delivering baskets of toys and games—along with Hope Totes for parents— to children in area hospitals.

If Basket of Hope is new to you, we would like to share a story of the impact a Basket of Hope and Hope Tote makes.

Imagine going about your everyday life, and out of the blue, your child becomes suddenly and seriously ill.  You rush to the hospital and they rush your child into surgery.  There are tense, lonely days waiting for results and signs of progress.  We don't have to imagine it.  We lived it when our son Josh (a HS freshman) couldn't feel his legs.  A tumor in his spinal column needed immediate surgery to avoid being paralyzed.  Those next few days were the toughest in our lives!  A Basket of Hope and Hope Tote made a huge difference!  Josh had some games and fun distractions; we got the encouraging message that we were not facing this alone.  The blessing of that shared hope and healing of our son, moved Mary Beth to begin the Houston branch of Basket Of Hope(TM), a national 501(c)3 non-profit. We do not take our “everyday life” for granted, because we know how quickly everything can change! We are humbled and very grateful for all that God has done in our lives—especially through other people. Basket of Hope is a way for us—and you—to be that blessing to others who are in similar scary situations.
